Ashton Ludden
Relay Ridge: Artist Collaborative Space
Printmaking, Drawing/Illustration, Mixed Media, Sign Painting / Plastic
Artist Statement: My work considers our relationship with wildlife as the natural world
becomes estranged through perpetual human expansion. I explore this relationship
through meticulous, repetitive processes such as hand-engraving, printmaking,
murals, ceramics, and weaving. I find these labor-intensive, traditional craft processes
provide a deeply meditative and focused quality in their demand for slowness – a
virtue nature preaches.
